Shipping & Delivery Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026 Business name: The Car Edit Website: https://the-car-edit.co.za Email: thecareditza@gmail.com Delivery region: South Africa Shipping partner: Aramex Door-to-Door Estimated delivery: 8–11 business days from dispatch
1. Introduction and scope
At The Car Edit, we aim to provide a reliable and convenient delivery experience for every customer.
This Shipping & Delivery Policy applies to all products purchased directly through our official online store, including our current and future automotive accessories and any other merchandise offered for sale by The Car Edit.
We currently use Aramex Door-to-Door to deliver orders within South Africa. We may use another suitable delivery service where necessary, provided the applicable delivery arrangements are communicated to the customer.
This policy explains our delivery estimates, shipping charges, tracking procedures, customer responsibilities, and how we handle delayed, damaged, missing or undeliverable parcels.
All provisions are subject to applicable South African law. Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts a consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Delivery areas
We currently deliver to eligible addresses within South Africa.
Delivery availability depends on the courier's service coverage and access to the address supplied at checkout.
Certain remote, rural, outlying or limited-access areas may require additional delivery time.
If we determine that an address cannot be serviced after an order has been placed, we will contact the customer to discuss a suitable alternative. If we cannot agree on an alternative and cannot fulfil the order, we will arrange an appropriate refund in accordance with applicable law.
We do not currently offer international delivery unless expressly stated on our website or agreed with the customer in writing.
3. Order processing and dispatch
Orders are processed after successful payment confirmation and completion of any reasonably necessary order-verification checks.
Orders placed on weekends or South African public holidays may only begin processing on the next business day.
Once an order has been dispatched, we will provide a shipping confirmation and tracking information where available.
Our estimated delivery period of 8–11 business days begins on the date of dispatch, not the date on which the order is placed.
For purposes of this policy, business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and South African public holidays.
Processing and dispatch times may vary because of stock availability, payment verification, order volumes or other operational circumstances. We will make reasonable efforts to inform customers of material delays affecting their orders.
Where a product is subject to a different processing or delivery period, that period will be disclosed on the relevant product page or at checkout before the customer completes the purchase.
4. Estimated delivery time
Our standard estimated delivery time is 8–11 business days from dispatch for eligible South African addresses.
This is an estimate rather than a guarantee that every parcel will arrive within that period.
Actual delivery times may be affected by the destination, courier operations, public holidays, weather, service interruptions and other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
An estimated delivery period does not remove any delivery obligation or cancellation right that applies under South African law.
Where a specific delivery date has been expressly agreed with a customer, we will handle that agreement and any failure to meet it in accordance with applicable law.
5. Shipping charges
Applicable shipping charges will be displayed at checkout before the customer completes their purchase.
Standard delivery within South Africa costs R89 per order. Delivery is free on orders of R799 or more.
Shipping charges may vary depending on the delivery destination, order contents, parcel dimensions, order value or promotional offer.
Where free or discounted shipping is offered, the applicable conditions will be displayed on our website, in the relevant promotion or at checkout.
We will not impose an undisclosed shipping charge after an order has been completed without the customer's agreement, except where a further charge is lawfully payable because of a subsequent customer-requested change or circumstances attributable to the customer.
6. Tracking your order
Where tracking is available, customers will receive tracking information after dispatch.
Customers may use the tracking information to monitor the parcel's progress through the courier network.
Tracking updates are supplied by the courier and may not always appear immediately or in real time.
If tracking information has not updated for an extended period, or if a parcel appears to be delayed or incorrectly routed, customers may contact us at thecareditza@gmail.com.
We will make reasonable efforts to investigate the issue with Aramex or the relevant courier and provide available updates.
7. Delivery delays
The Car Edit is not responsible for additional losses caused solely by delays beyond our reasonable control, to the extent that such liability may lawfully be limited.
Circumstances that may affect delivery include:
-
Courier network congestion, routing issues or operational disruptions.
-
Severe weather, flooding, natural disasters or other hazardous conditions.
-
Strikes, service interruptions or disruptions affecting transport networks.
-
South African public holidays and periods of unusually high delivery demand.
-
Incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by the customer.
-
Failed delivery attempts where the recipient is unavailable or cannot reasonably be contacted.
-
Restricted access to the delivery address or other circumstances that prevent a safe delivery attempt.
Where a delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to assist with tracking, communicate with the courier and provide relevant updates.
The Car Edit remains responsible for its own delivery obligations under applicable law. A courier delay does not automatically remove a customer's statutory rights to request performance, cancel an order or obtain a refund where the legal requirements for that remedy are met.
We will not charge customers an additional fee merely because the courier experiences a delay for which the customer is not responsible.
8. Customer delivery responsibilities
Customers must provide accurate and complete delivery information when placing an order, including:
-
The recipient's name.
-
A complete and correct delivery address.
-
A reachable contact number.
-
Any reasonably necessary building, complex, access or delivery instructions.
Customers should ensure that someone is available to receive the parcel at the delivery address or that suitable arrangements have been made with the courier.
Customers are encouraged to monitor courier communications and respond to reasonable requests for delivery instructions.
The Car Edit is not responsible for additional costs caused solely by incorrect information or failed delivery arrangements attributable to the customer, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
9. Incorrect addresses and address changes
If a customer notices an incorrect or incomplete delivery address, they should contact us as soon as possible at thecareditza@gmail.com.
If the order has not yet been dispatched, we will make reasonable efforts to update the delivery details.
Once an order has been dispatched, an address change may not be possible. Any requested change will depend on the courier's operational requirements and the parcel's delivery status.
Where an incorrect address supplied by the customer results in a failed delivery, return to sender or additional courier charge, the customer may be required to pay reasonable additional costs before redelivery is arranged.
Any additional charge will be explained to the customer before it is incurred, where reasonably possible.
No additional charge will be imposed where the relevant error is attributable to The Car Edit or where applicable law requires us to bear the cost.
10. Failed delivery attempts
If a courier cannot complete delivery because the recipient is unavailable, cannot be contacted or has not provided necessary access instructions, the courier may attempt delivery again or return the parcel to its depot or sender.
The number of delivery attempts and any collection or redelivery arrangements may depend on the courier's procedures.
Where a failed delivery is attributable to the customer, The Car Edit may request payment of reasonable additional redelivery charges, subject to applicable law.
If a parcel is returned to us, we will contact the customer to discuss redelivery, cancellation or another appropriate arrangement.
Any refund or deduction arising from an undeliverable order will be determined in accordance with the circumstances and the customer's statutory rights.
11. Delivery confirmation and disputes
The courier may record delivery using a signature, delivery scan, photograph, recipient confirmation or another available proof-of-delivery method.
If tracking indicates that an order has been delivered but the customer has not received it, the customer should contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may request relevant information and investigate the matter using the courier's tracking records, proof of delivery and any other available evidence.
A delivery scan or proof-of-delivery record may be considered during an investigation but does not automatically resolve every dispute or remove any right the customer has under applicable law.
Where a parcel has been delivered to an incorrect address or an unauthorised recipient because of an error attributable to The Car Edit or its delivery service provider, we will arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.
12. Lost or missing parcels
If a parcel has not arrived within the estimated delivery period, the customer should contact us so that we can investigate.
We may request the order number, delivery details and any relevant tracking information.
The Car Edit will make reasonable efforts to locate the parcel through Aramex or the relevant courier.
If a parcel is confirmed lost or cannot be delivered, we will assess the circumstances and arrange the remedy required by applicable law, which may include replacement, fulfilment by another reasonable method or a refund.
Customers will not be required to pursue a courier insurance claim directly where The Car Edit remains legally responsible for delivering the goods.
We may separately pursue any available claim against the courier without reducing the customer's statutory rights.
13. Damaged parcels and products
Customers are encouraged to inspect the outer packaging and products as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If an order arrives visibly damaged, the customer should contact us at thecareditza@gmail.com and, where reasonably available, provide photographs of the packaging and affected products.
Customers are requested to retain the packaging until the matter has been assessed.
The Car Edit may investigate damage with the courier and request relevant information to help establish what occurred.
A customer will not automatically lose a statutory remedy because they did not take photographs, retain packaging or report the damage immediately.
Where goods are damaged, defective or otherwise fail to meet applicable statutory requirements, we will provide the remedy required by South African law and our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy.
14. Order cancellations and refunds
Customers who wish to cancel an order should contact us as soon as possible.
If an order has not yet been dispatched, we will assess the cancellation request in accordance with the customer's statutory rights and any applicable agreement.
If an order has already been dispatched, cancellation may require the goods to be returned, subject to the applicable legal requirements.
Eligible online purchases may be subject to statutory cooling-off rights under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
Customers may also have cancellation or refund rights where goods are not delivered within the period required by applicable law or an applicable delivery agreement.
Refunds and returns will be handled in accordance with our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy and applicable South African law.
Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy imposes a cancellation penalty or removes a refund right where such a penalty or restriction is prohibited by law.
15. Product availability and unfulfilled orders
We aim to keep product availability information accurate.
If a product becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact the customer and explain the available options.
We will not substitute a materially different product without the customer's agreement.
Where we cannot fulfil an order because the goods are unavailable, we will provide the refund required by applicable law.
Where only part of an order can be fulfilled, we will contact the customer to agree on an appropriate arrangement, including any necessary adjustment to the order and payment.
16. Limitation of responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable South African law, The Car Edit is not liable for additional losses caused solely by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including unforeseen courier disruptions, severe weather and other events that prevent or delay delivery.
Customers remain responsible for reasonable additional costs directly attributable to incorrect delivery information, unavailable recipients or customer-requested changes, where those costs may lawfully be charged.
However, The Car Edit does not exclude responsibility for its own failure to fulfil an order, its own negligence, or the acts or omissions of a delivery service provider where applicable law makes The Car Edit responsible.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability, cancellation rights, refund rights or other consumer remedies where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.
17. Relationship to our returns policy
This Shipping & Delivery Policy should be read together with The Car Edit's Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy.
The Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy explains the procedures and applicable rights relating to change-of-mind returns, defective goods, damaged products, exchanges and refunds.
If a provision in either policy conflicts with applicable South African law, the law will prevail.
18. Changes to this policy
The Car Edit may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in delivery arrangements, courier services, business operations or applicable law.
Changes will not retrospectively remove or reduce rights that a customer has already acquired.
The terms applicable to a particular order will be determined by the agreement and information provided at the time of purchase, subject to applicable law.
19. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute relating to delivery will be subject to the applicable South African legal framework and the jurisdiction of competent courts or other authorised dispute-resolution bodies.
